Communications Specialist

Beginning in June 2021, I took on the role of Communications Specialist for the growing transportation company, Beacon Mobility. The full-time position features a range of responsibilities, including jumping in to immediately help with the rollout of an employee app, Go Beacon!, as well as regularly composing, editing and posting content for the app. In addition to writing and photography, a significant amount of video production and editing are required in the role, composing such content for the app and for the various Beacon Mobility-owned websites.

Content Producer

Since May 2020, I have been a Content Producer for Church Facilities Expo in a contract role, successfully boosting an inaugural conference, Church Facilities Conference & Expo, held in Dallas in September 2021. To read any of my articles, visit the CFX site, or read some recent examples on my Content Producer page.

Shortly thereafter, in October 2020, I also began writing content for the online publication focused on technology for houses of worship, Technologies for Worship Magazine. In addition to regularly writing features for the magazine, soon after I began helping the magazine with social media planning, at which point my title was changed to Content Manager. To read any of my articles from the magazine, visit the site, or check out the Content Producer page for some of my top pieces.

In addition, in December 2020, I also began writing pieces for the rAVe Agency, based in North Carolina, to write periodic content for their technology for houses of worship section on their site, writing for seven months. To review any of those recent articles, you can either visit the rAVe Pubs website, or take a look at my Content Producer page.

Prior to various contract roles mentioned above, I also served as a Content Producer for four years while managing the online publication Worship Tech Director. The site was most recently operated by Informa, located in Westborough, Massachusetts, through December 2019. From November 2015 to December 2017, the site was owned by EH Media in Framingham, Massachusetts. During that time, I was responsible for writing, editing and posting daily site content. The site’s content focused on audio, video and lighting technology ideal for houses of worship across the country. Shortly after rebranding the site in January 2016, site traffic grew by over 130 percent over the next two years. Over that same span, the site saw an increase in return visitors to the site by over 75 percent. Over the rebranded site’s four years, the number of Facebook followers to the site grew from fewer than 1,800 to nearly 13,000.

Content Marketing Manager

Between late January 2020 through early May 2020, I stepped into a new role for 1 Beyond, Inc., located in Charlestown, Massachusetts, as the Content Marketing Manager, on a contract. My primary responsibilities involved creating social media posts, scheduling editorial contributions for industry-specific publications and coordinating content for upcoming in-person conferences. I also updated and edited the company’s WordPress site, and handled the design, writing and editing of Constant Contact emails.

Brand Quality Assurance Specialist

Prior to working for EH Media, I served as a Brand Quality Assurance Specialist. The position was an eight-month contract role for the integrated advertising agency, GYK Antler, in Manchester, New Hampshire. My primary responsibilities were to provide clean copy for all print and web projects, along with radio and TV scripts. Work was completed among over 40 clients including America’s Test Kitchen, Breville, New Hampshire Lottery, Stamford Hospital and United Bank.

Copy Editor

With my varied page design software skills, particularly with Adobe InDesign, I served as a copy editor for nearly six months for the New Hampshire Union Leader in Manchester, New Hampshire. In that position, I designed newspaper section pages, completing four to six pages for the next day’s edition. I also often served frequently as web editor, updating the newspaper’s website, along with editing and loading articles, HTML and photos.

Senior News Editor/Newspapers In Education Director and Columnist

For over 10 years, I fulfilled various roles for The Gardner News, in Gardner, Massachusetts, a six-day daily newspaper. Beginning as a News Staff Writer, I transitioned to become Night Editor three months later. I began working on the desk during the day six months later as the Assistant Editor/Newspapers In Education Coordinator. I served as the paper’s assistant editor for four years. In 2009, I was promoted to be the Senior News Editor/Newspapers In Education Director for an additional five-plus years. Working with two other editors, I managed a full-time staff of up to six reporters, sharing layout duties, writing up to two weekly columns, as well as composing periodic editorials and entertainment features.
